DEAR COLLEAGUE,
Welcome to the EFQM World ofInnovation & Creativity
– The Art of Management
BILBAO, SPAIN — 4-6 OCTOBER 2010
We are delighted to announce that the theme for the 2010 Forum is Innovation and Creativity and where better to start the discussions on this subject than in the Award winning Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the venue for our traditional Welcome Reception on the evening of Monday 4th October.
Throughout the centuries, Artists have changed the “rules of the game” in terms of techniques and approaches.
Join us in the Guggenheim on the Monday evening and witness the innovation and creativity of artists such as Anish Kapoor. We may not all love his creative ideas on Art but you cannot ignore them and some became very successful indeed.
As it is within the world of Art, so to with the Art of Management. Over the decades there have been several watersheds in management thinking, interventions into the current “how we do things here” mind-sets.
For example, EFQM, when it first launched the EFQM Excellence Model in Q4/1991, caused shock waves around Europe for daring to include a criterion called “Impact on Society.”
Nowadays can you imagine any organisation ignoring such an important topic? Yesterday’s shock wave is today’s norm.
Those of you who have been attendees at previous EFQM Forums will know that we have an enviable track record of bringing to our audience Keynote Speakers who, in their own way, challenge the current “rules of the game”, and this year is no exception.
Throughout the Forum, your current views of accepted practicewill be challenged as we give you the opportunity to learn about recipes for effective innovation and gain inspiration on new ways of working. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the emotional connection with the 2010 EFQM Excellence Award Finalists as they celebrate their achievements at the Recognition Ceremony on the Tuesday evening.
And finally, on the subject of challenging the current “rules of the game” we chose Einstein to be the face of Forum 2010 because he exemplifies what is possible if we open our minds!
